Last Full Day...

Friday, June 24, 2011

We actually left our house for breakfast this morning and we had it catered at the Lovers' Deck.  This is a 2 level deck overlooking the blowhole.  The top was where our table was set up and the bottom has a hot tub.

By this point, I was miserable from insect bites.  I'd wear 2 layers of Ugly Bugly (a very thick, nasty bug repellent) and still have terrible reactions to bites.  I went to soothe myself in the pool and Rick "secretly" consulted with the spa to see if they could do anything for me.  I ended up with a Bali Spice treatment.  It was a 2 hour skin treatment where they scrubbed my entire body with a scrub that was left on as a clay mask and finished with a massage/skin treatment.  I felt so much better!

Tonight, we scheduled "Moonlight Magic."  They open the spa only for us at 6:30 pm - it was lit only by candlelight and there were flowers everywhere.  We changed into robes and were given a milk foot soak and sugar scrub while we drank champagne.  We then had a 90 minute couples massage.  After the massage, we were led into the hydrotherapy room where we had more champagne, fruit, and hot appetizers.  We had free reign of the hydro room until 9:30, but we left around 9:00.

Part of the Moonlight Magic was that you had a catered dinner of your choosing in your room afterward.  We had spoken to Rupeni, the food and beverage manager earlier in the week and told him we were interested in all kinds of seafood, especially Fijian ceviche called "Kokoda."  Back in the room, we had lobster bisque, Kokoda, huge Pacific lobster tails, mussels, fish, clams, and shrimp - so much food! We also had champagne and white wine.  All week, the staff was very good with my nut allergy (they went out of their way to accommodate this!) but tonight, both desserts contained nuts.  Boo.  No biggie, I couldn't even finish my wine I was so full.  The staff had also drawn a bubble bath in our big whirlpool tub, but after spending all that time in hydrotherapy, I didn't feel like doing anymore soaking!
